Markets & Workshops
Curious about how to paint with watercolour but have no idea where to start? My workshops and private classes will guide you through the materials and techniques that will get you on your way.
Upcoming workshops & markets
Watercolour & Yin
Saturday 23 July, 2022
Yin Tribe, 1a Elizabeth Street Mount Gambier
Watercolour and Yin is a collaboration between Yin Tribe and Julia Reader Creates.
This workshop will see you in the Yin Tribe studio where creativity, connection and calm will be offered through gentle guidance.
Included in your ticket is:
- A two-hour guided watercolour experience (all materials included)
- A sumptuous high tea of home-cooked delights
- A one-hour grounding yin yoga practice
This is a small-group workshop so places are very limited. The intention of this offering is likened to a warm hug – a place to connect (or re-connect) in a nurturing, wholesome and mindful space. An opportunity for rest and replenishment, activating our parasympathetic nervous system to create peace and calm.
Winter Solstice Market
Saturday 13 August, 2022
City Hall, Mount Gambier
I will be at the Winter Solstice market selling a range of original paintings, prints, cards and homewares. This market coincides with the ILLUMINATE Digital Garden (in the Cave Garden precinct) and is set to be a fabulous night. Bring your winter woolies and come down and say hi!
“Thank you so much for a well-run workshop. I am definitely coming to the next one.”
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A WORKSHOP?
Each workshop offers you an opportunity to explore the medium of watercolour. You will learn the fundamentals through a series of exercises, all of which come together to create a final painting. I will demonstrate everything first, and I always encourage you to ask questions and seek my help if you need.
All materials are supplied for you, so all you have to do is bring yourself and some optimism. Watercolour should not be daunting – in fact, it will probably leave you feeling quite relaxed when you leave.
I have designed these workshops to be the perfect combination of learning and fun. My aim is for you to know enough to continue on at home, and with practice, perfect your skills so that you feel confident.
I haven’t painted since kindergarten. Can I still come?
Of course you can! My workshops are aimed at the absolute beginner, and if you can hold a paintbrush you are ready to come along! I explain my way through the workshop and encourage everyone to ask questions.
Do I need my own materials?
I supply all materials, so the only thing you need to bring is some optimism and a smile.
Do you cater for those with food requirements i.e. coeliac disease?
Yes I do! Please get in touch with me as soon as possible so that I can arrange a suitable option for you.
Can I get a refund on my ticket if I cannot attend?
Ticket refunds will be accepted up to 7 days prior to the event. After that, and each refund request will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
