Watercolour in the Gardens
22 February, 2026
1 – 4pm at
Caroline Hills Winery
489 Norman Road, Yahl SA 5290
Watercolour in the Gardens – a workshop set in the beautiful gardens of Caroline Hills. Included in your ticket is a glass of Caroline Hills wine (or a mocktail), a shared grazing board and a small garden tour by Caroline Hills owner, Helen Strickland (also; an infinite source of floral inspiration and colour). Is there a more perfect way to spend a late-Summer afternoon?
Suitable for beginner and intermediate levels, this workshop will see us paint some loose watercolour florals from the flowers of Caroline Hills. We will go through the fundamentals of watercolour and you will have ample time to experiment before you create your final piece. All materials are supplied, and you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
This small-group workshop, like all workshops I offer, is thoughtfully curated. Caroline Hills is a perfect location and much more than a vineyard, a farm, or a garden—it’s a lifelong project, shaped by dedication, discovery, and the rhythm of the land. To paint in this location will not only provide inspiration; it will be a sanctuary to explore our creativity and connect with like-minded people.
“Thoroughly enjoyable!”

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A WORKSHOP?
Each workshop offers you an opportunity to explore the medium of watercolour. You will learn the fundamentals through a series of exercises, all of which come together to create a final painting. I will demonstrate everything first, and I always encourage you to ask questions and seek my help if you need.
All materials are supplied for you, so all you have to do is bring yourself and some optimism. Watercolour should not be daunting – in fact, it will probably leave you feeling quite relaxed when you leave.
I have designed these workshops to be the perfect combination of learning and fun. My aim is for you to know enough to continue on at home, and with practice, perfect your skills so that you feel confident.
